Best practices for using images in emails

Consider the following when creating images for use in emails:

  • SiteVibes supports JPEG, PNG, and GIF images. PNGs work best, especially for images with text.
  • The maximum image size is 10MB, but we recommend keeping images under 1MB for faster loading.
  • Use 72dpi resolution. For full-width images, keep them between 600-1000px wide and under 2000px tall. Smaller images can be less than 600px wide.
  • Full-width images at 72dpi may exceed 1MB, but reducing size too much can lower quality. Balance image quality with load time, as large images may load slowly for some users.
  • Always add alt text to images. Some inboxes hide images by default, so alt text helps users understand the content and improves accessibility.
